Masters Table Tennis Club (Singapore)
Masters Table Tennis Club (Singapore) — formerly known as Veteran Table Tennis Club Singapore (VTTCS) — is one of Singapore's longest-standing communities dedicated to senior and masters-level table tennis. The club traces its sporting origins to the 1980s, when a passionate group of seasoned players began organising social sessions, friendly matches, and informal competitions for older athletes. Their goal was simple yet powerful: to create a supportive community where experienced players could continue to train, compete, and enjoy the sport they loved.
As participation grew, the community formalised its structure and was officially registered as VETERAN TABLE TENNIS CLUB (SINGAPORE) on 4 September 1997 under the Registry of Societies. This milestone allowed the club to expand its activities, build partnerships with community organisations, and organise structured competitions that elevated the profile of senior table tennis in Singapore.
Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, the club gained national visibility through its championship tournaments and overseas exchanges. A series of dedicated presidents and committees strengthened the club's foundation, introduced competitive discipline, and fostered a vibrant culture of camaraderie. Over the years, VTTCS became the de-facto hub for senior players across the island — recognised for its warm community spirit, structured training opportunities, and inclusive approach to lifelong participation in sport.
In the 2010s, the club saw significant growth, with membership expanding and international engagement increasing. Collaborations with the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA), community sports clubs, and regional partners further anchored the club's position as a key contributor to Singapore's masters-level table tennis landscape. By this time, the club had grown to a community of over 400 members, spanning athletes aged 40+ for men and 35+ for women.
On 13 November 2025, the club entered a new era. To better reflect the mastery, dedication, and lifelong passion of Singapore's senior table tennis athletes, VTTCS officially rebranded as Masters Table Tennis Club (Singapore) — MTTCS. This evolution honours the club's heritage while embracing a forward-looking vision focused on growth, community building, and high-quality competitive opportunities.
Today, under the leadership of President Eric Fong and a dedicated volunteer committee, MTTCS remains committed to strengthening the senior and masters table tennis ecosystem in Singapore. The club continues to champion Sport for Life, fostering friendships, promoting sportsmanship, and enabling every masters player to achieve their fullest potential — on and off the table.
Through meaningful training, competition, and opportunities to participate in and contribute to the Singapore table tennis community, we are committed to supporting every senior and masters player in pursuing personal excellence, building friendships, and sustaining a deep passion for the sport.
For Sport for Life, MTTCS believes that masters-level table tennis serves as more than just a sport — it is a vehicle for staying healthy, building friendships, and maintaining lifelong vitality. Through regular training, competitive tournaments, and community exchanges, we will continue to keep our members physically active, mentally engaged, and socially connected.
Our vision is to become Singapore's leading masters table tennis institution — a home for senior athletes with integrity, a champion of Sport for Life, and a recognised contributor to the development of masters-level table tennis across the Asia Pacific region. We envision a future where experience, discipline, and passion define a new generation of masters players who inspire others through their resilience and sportsmanship.
